JL Audio f212v2-GLOSS 2x12 "active subwoofer, color: piano lacquered black
Would it be hard to put a real Gotham in the listening position, but the bank account is a bit against you? The Fathom f212v2 or pair can be said to help excellently in a situation like this. The f212v2 is the wildest Fathom model whose performance will not disappoint under any circumstances. Extremely long-lasting 12-inch W7 elements and a highly powerful 3600W amplifier bring a real sense of danger to bass reproduction.
Because the f212v2 is implemented with the same element structure and amplification technology as our acclaimed flagship Gotham®, it offers very convincing sound quality. Low distortion, excellent dynamic properties and a shockingly deep dimension let you experience all the excitement of the most demanding cinematic material, but at the same time Fathom is able to reproduce all the nuances and textures of your delicate musical material.
The full range of signal processing features is easily accessible from the front panel of each Fathom. These include a highly flexible low-pass filter, phase control and polarity reversal, an elf trim and an extremely precise digital automatic room optimization system (DARO). A high-quality calibrated microphone for the DARO system is included. Input connections are made with RCA connections or balanced Neutrik® combo XLR / TRS connectors. There is also an XLR output through which you can daisy-chain another Fathom subwoofer.
Advanced element technology
Fathom bass elements utilize the DMA optimization developed by JL Audio, which allows the motor power of the element to guarantee a very linear trajectory with a long movement deviation. Unlike traditional modeling methods, DMA takes into account the dynamic variations of the power supply with real music material. The advantage of the technology is that the element stays going on both loud and quiet when listening, unlike many traditional subwoofers, whose playback is so-called. 'opens' only when the tap is turned well.
The extreme immersion depth of the element is appropriate and allows a sufficient distance between the suspension and the double spiders from each other and from the cone, allowing a really long trajectory and minimal distortion value, as well as improving durability.
